As the second installment of "MOOD SOUNDS of TOKYO," a series that archives and distributes high-quality instrumental works originating from Japan, including mood music, seven albums will be made available for streaming.
The first installment of works related to Kunihiko SuzukiFollowing that, five works from the "Go Go Grand Party" series, which began with an LP by Kunihiko Suzuki & Beat Pops Men, are now available for streaming. The two works released as the third installment of this series feature "Godzilla and Yellow Gypsy," a band in which Haruo Chikada was a member, sharing the tracklist with Riki Ueda & The Caravan. As related works, the lineup also includes "GOODY GOODY OLDY MUSIC," in which Haruo Chikada & Haruophone, as a masked band, cover rock and roll and soul music, and "Remember Group Sound 1 & 2," which features covers of group sounds by Haruo Chikada & Haruophone, Orange Pekoe, Kannazuki, VSOP, and others.

<MOOD SOUNDS of TOKYO>
This year, 2025, marks the 100th anniversary of the Showa era, and various Japanese content from that period will be highlighted. One genre that reflects the atmosphere and trends of that time is what is called "mood music." This mainly consists of instrumental covers of popular Western songs, Japanese pop songs, and movie soundtracks from that era, and these have served a role similar to background music or dance music played in streets and shops.
However, these recordings feature top-tier musicians and composers, and offer a glimpse into the unique sounds produced by the instruments and recording environments of Japan at the time, making them historical documents in the history of Japanese music. This archive recording distribution series aims to re-examine the sounds that colored that era through these recordings.
